Welcome to MCMI workshop, an IAPR endorsed event, co-located with the 26th International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR 2024) in Kolkata, India.
Nowadays, the convergence and fusion of information from multiple modalities constitute the backbone of modern AI systems to allow for robust pattern recognition and understanding. The workshop aims at fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across various fields, including audio processing, computer vision, and natural language processing, among others. It offers a venue for sharing recent findings and new methodologies, and addressing the future directions of multimodal pattern analysis.
This interdisciplinary workshop is important not only for academics, but also for the tech industry: the ideas from multiple domains can fundamentally change the way we interact with the world and open possibilities for innovation. Coverage of the workshop includes novel applications and innovative solutions related to acquisition and integration of data from different sources for holistic pattern recognition, as well as examining how cross-domain insights can be used to comprehend and analyze complex, multimodal datasets. The workshop thus aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners from different areas to discuss recent progress in multimodal pattern recognition.
